If you have never been to WITERAIL now is the time to go. Tickets are still available and this years line-up should appeal to just about everyone. I have been going for over 25 years and there is no doubt the it is the premier multi-media railroad show in the land! Vic Neves, Ken Meeker and Dave Stanley have put on a show that is in my mind a must for any railfan. Not only can you meet the giants of railroad photography, the likes of Stan Kistler, Dick Dorn, Ted Benson, Bob Morris, and Mel Patrick just to name a few but it is a great place for networking. The greatest steam engineer in the land, Doyle McCormick might be there as well as other notables in the industry.
If you are planning on staying a few days, Niles Canyon Railway with Pacific Locomotive Assoc. and the Golden Gate RR. Mueseum will run the SP Pacific #2472 on Sunday following Winterail. Another reason to show up is that there could be a break in the stormy weather to get pictures of the steam here and snow in the Sierra. Lots more snows is expected in the next 5 weeks and if this El Nino Winter lives up to 1996-97, the rotaries could make an appearance around that time. The latest line-up contains the following shows:"At the Intersection of Rail Transit and Urban Culture: The San Francisco Muni " by Christian Goepel & Kevin Sheridan

"Wyoming & Colorado Railroad" by Bill Kepner
"Western Wanderings" by Scott Lothes
"Southern Pacific's Truckee Limited" Movie by Ken Shattock
"Colorado Rails" by Timonthy Tonge
"The Sierra Railroad" Movie by Don Olsen
"My First Forty Years" by Dave Oroszi
"Twenty Something" by Ted Smith-Peterson
"Sunset Route" by Kevin Dorn
"Mostly Hogheads" by Tom Moungovan
"Daylight Nights" by Jim Booth

As they say, see you there!
