Here's a little different view of the same section of track in Steve's photo...and a good one it is, BTW. If you look close, there is a small ledge just above the cab and in the smoke of the second unit. If you perch up on that little rock outcropping, hold on for dear life, and hope a train comes eastbound fairly soon, you get this view.

Now, this was taken back in the day the White Pine road wasn't plowed, so you had to hike in from either Merritt or US-2...but no snow shoes were used or abused in the taking of this photo.
