I get what you are saying, George, but not sure I totally agree. I've got 3-4 shots of eastbounds at the slot taken in the winter from the little ledge same as the one linked to here. Al1 were on cloudy, even light winter days as you would expect, accept one, (page 125 The Great Adventure), which was on one of the 0 degree sunny days. All were on film, (T-max 400) and turned out okay.
