I enlarged the photo, but couldn't make out the number. After checking the roster book, "Union Pacific 1977-1980" by George Cockle, I'm pretty sure it's an SW9. The clue is the louvers on the side of the hood. SW7s have a gap in the louvers a few rows below the top; NW2s either have the same gap, or no louvers at all. SW9s don't have the upper few rows of louvers, so no gap.
