I have seen the old ADLAKE locks still use on ex-Santa Fe branches in Texas; mostly on derails and secondary tracks and have even seen some recent keys of the Santa Fe configuration (ADLAKE pattern #665) marked BNSF.
The SP locks I referred to are the American Lock Co. ones that were circular with the shackle at the top and a chain attached to the shackle. They have a flat corrugated key (mine has D575 stamped on it) and lasted until the UP came along with the high security locks made by Sargent & Greenleaf. They are notorious for the shackle coming out of the body after heavy use and, per my previous post, are still being supplied for use around yards, etc. The OPR interchange @ East Portland has them on both the mainline and inside crossover switches even though both these switches are operated by UP crews.
