Originally built in Sept/Oct 1926 as a Pullman 3-2-1 observation lounge "Central Plains". It served on the 1947-49 American Freedom train, then the Merci Train before returning to Pullman service.

The car was sold to Southern Pacific in 1953 becoming SP #106 "Central Plains", then "Shasta" and finally "Oregon".

Ownership transferred to UP by the 1996 merger and was placed up for auction in 1998.

Lists indicate it was retired in 2000 when it was sold to the Livingston Rebuild Center and rostered as LRCX 106. Finally after the failed attempts to start the Talgo/LRC shop in Richland, the TCRY was founded where the car became TCRY 106.
