MoPac Caboose #13888 at Valley, WA

I just got back from a trip up BNSF's Kettle Falls line to Chewelah,WA yesterday. There I found a Missouri Pacific center cab caboose #13888 at Valley, WA. It looks like a very recent addition to the park near the BNSF tracks. [new clean gravel & concrete ties] This caboose appears to be some sort of "transfer" caboose - a small cupolaless caboose box on a caboose size wheelbase. It looks like a mid-1970's vintage and appears in good running condition with roller bearing trucks, all the brake rigging, good MoPac red "Eagle" paint. R-T-R.

Does anyone know where this caboose may have come from? Most of all why?? The GN never had any cabooses like this, so why in Valley, Washington? They must have got a good deal on it. It must have been trucked in? I don't have a clue what paint scheme it will be painted in - if any; like I say the paint is good now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Talk to ya later,
Dale Jones
