This article doesn't tell us anything that we didn't already know. What we need to find out, and punctually, is whether there is any freight business left on what's left of the NWP.

MTC is courteously hinting that SMART's passenger counts will be insufficient to count as effective mass transit. The quarter-mile transfer to the Golden Gate ferry at Larkspur is ridiculous.

The IJ's columnist's suggestion to dump the pricey doddlebugs in favor of loco hauled shows some movement towards a rethink of the project. But Marin doesn't want long trains or wine trains.

Imho it's either NCRA-NWP or SMART. One has to go.
