In my opinion the 200 mph, is a needed speed to be competitive with the airlines. Also it will serve an area of the state which is lacking in options for travel to and from the larger cities in the state. The coast is not an option as it’s much longer and slower. The hole idea is to have the train on its own route to avoid conflicts with the UP or BNSF, which it should be set up this way if it were to be built. The Anaheim to LA should be scraped as it is a redundant rail corridor and the benefit can be achieved by better track conditions and grade separation for 110mph speeds and signals if that is needed.
