Train over the Siskiyou's

Central Oregon & Pacific Railroad is set to test three blue colored GP-20D locomotives over the Siskiyou mountain range today. CORP is planninjg to take the hill around 3PM pulling a total of 16 cars of freight containing logs and veneer. The GP-20's have spent the last few weeks plying the rails from the Eugene yard to Roseburg. Earlier this week two of the GP-20's have been working the Medford & White City area. Engineers from CORP have been putting those three units thru their paces pulling loads up steep grades like Airport Hill near Roseburg, The Rice Hill grade and today the big test over the Siskiyou's. If tests are sucessfull CORP plans to replace the fleet of aging Grey and Red colored GP-38's with the
GP-20D's.
