Be wary of flat-rooted trees

Availability of water close to the surface grows such trees. Tap-rooted trees go deep for water and seldom fall. Look for flat-rooted trees that have fallen.

This matters, whether you are in the right-of-way maintenance business or have a home with nearby trees.

Flat-rooted trees survive well in large groves, unless they are on the boundary.
Recommend learning which is which.
