As noted, without freight, how soon will it be before the boys from Omahaha threaten to file for abandonment in an effort to get Amtrak or some other government entity to buy it.

For those advocates of HSR, that agency was just given a budget for ONE year of $464,000,000.00. Apply just that one years budget to upgrading the Coast line and you will have high speed rail.
