Actually, Tom, the Sounder work you mentioned was done several months ago. Other recent work includes platforms @ 72th Ave station, and new double track from South Tacoma through Lakewood. Also of interest is a lawsuit filed by Tacoma Rescue Mission against Sound Transit. They fear the "...noise from high speed trains..." running behind their location on South Tacoma Way will disturb their clients!!! The " high speed trains " part is puzzling to me, as trains will be climbing up an appx 2.5% grade at this point. While the locomotive will indeed be making much noise, I don't think high speeds will be possible, except maybe DOWN the hill.
