As I recall, the turntable was air operated. I'm wondering how much of a charge the locomotive could give to it before disconnecting and how much air was left after a half revolution. If they ran out of air, guess they had to call for a cable or ??
The reason for the turntable was that until 1941 the NWP ran a local
passenger train to Healdsburg from Sausalito. Local freights also
terminated here is the steam era.. Healdsburg was a river resort in
those days. Near the station and along the river are two homes that
are reputed have been "resorts" with ladies popular for men from the
City who came by train.
The turntable was disconnected and much of the yard removed in the mid
eighties.
