The train was 2 hours late by the time it got to Redding. Buses took Bay Area passengers off. The Special bucked the afternoon westbounds out of Dunsmuir. Crew died at Castle Crag and waited to be recrewed and meet 3 westbounds. Rumor was Art Lloyd got on the SP radio inquiring as to how much longer was the wait to Dunsmuir and was told, "this is the company's profit moving and you'll just have to wait your turn" Ouch.
