According to Altamont Press California Region TimeTable for 2009, Victorville is at MP 36.7, Frost (the Flyover) at 38.0, a distance of 1.3 miles. The Narrows are about .5 miles railroad west of the Victorville Depot, adjacent to the Mojave Narrows Regional Park on the east side of the tracks. Traveling east on Amtrak No. 3, be looking for the Narrows rock formations shortly after making the crossover at Frost. At Victorville depot, you will have passed the formation you are talking about.
