Live Oak & Chico Stations

Was up at Live Oak checking out the station refurbishing going on there. It looks great. They are doing a very nice job on the work. Station is now listed on the National List of Historic Buildings. They are working to keep it as authentic as possible. All the work done by younger guys learning construction under the supervision of a builder company. The City of Live Oak is behind the project. Should be finished some time in late October or possibly earlier. Makes my home town officials from Yuba City look pretty pathetic since they sold their historic SP depot on ebay.

While I was there the UP track inspector stopped by to check on progress and made a comment about the Chico station being torn down. I had not heard anything about this. Any of you Chico guys know what's going on?
