I imagine Joe is asking about night operations open to the public, but I've got to say that there used be lots of night operation among the members, often referred to as "electroshock therapy." A great deal of equipment not normally in use came out after the museum closed to the public for the day. Also, most switching took place after hours so not as to interfere with passenger operations--sometimes it went on into the wee hours of the morning. It was great fun; too bad the Dark Times descended and the ruling junta ran off everybody they didn't like or couldn't control.
