Reading between the lines, certain members of the board have likely been going to bat for Roaring Camp to secure future excursion train rights to Davenport. When all of this began RC showed an interest in excursion trains but didn't want to deal with the freight side. When Sierra Northern signed the lease with UP, the powers that be in Felton started squawking in the press and through politicians about being left out. Sierra Northern has made it clear in the press and with the county from day one regarding their need for both freight and excursion/dinner business to make it a viable operation. Leave it to Santa Cruz to throw this spanner in the works and act as though they didn't see it coming.
