On the issue of photo cropping, I like to see it both ways. The cropped photo can show closer details of the main subject but as stated, the wider shot can show the enviornment that surrounds the main subject as well as many historical aspects that in most cases no longer exist. Personally, I long to see areas that are long gone but as I grew up I was not equipt with camera and unable to record views so I really enjoy the photos taken by others I can see and say `Hey I remember / forgot that was there`. To often in my past, I did not notice things while looking at them but in photos, I am able to recognise them and enjoy. GTB
