Thanks for posting that classic CSS&SB image, Drew. These giant, iconic cars arrived on the railroad in the roaring 1920s and faithfully served Chicago and northwest Indiana residents into the 1980s. I had just one ride on these cars as a youth, from Randolph Street in Chicago to Indiana Dunes, and will always remember the experience as the one that launched my love of interurbans. Several of these cars survive in Chicago area railroad museums, including the Fox River Trolley Museum, Illinois Railway Museum, and the East Troy Railroad Museum. And the street trackage in Michigan City is still in use ... for now.
