Most of the traffic you see between Chewelah and Kettle is to/from the Waneta, BC line, with a smattering of local business in Kettle and Colville. The line up for sale/abandonment between Kettle and Grand Forks/Danville sees one to two round trips per week. This week it was one, and only 17 loads came down from Canada. Thirty to forty cars per week seems to be about average, however, as of late. The future of this line is very questionable at present. It is a very scenic line though, following the Kettle River for the entire distance. If you care to see it in operation, now would be a good time. There are already many people along the line that can't wait for it to turn into a trail.
