I live four blocks from the Tacoma city line. Some of you folks ridicule the route from Tacoma to Eatonville because of the "view"... Don't you think that is better than NOT running at all ?? A lot of the Bellevue, Mercer Island, Redmond and other rich folks hate the Tacoma idea as well. Too far to drive to. Yeah ?? Well THEY hated the damn train anyway. They didn't want it running thru their lake front back yards. So as far as I'm concerned, they have nothing to say.

Snohomish County up North of Woodenville is now all ticked off as they thought they had good negotiations going for some time to have the train run from Woodenville to Snohomish, which is really a very short distance. Well, between them and King County and Gus Melonas at the BNSF, they all wanted to just "Dink and Dawdle" .. When it comes to trying to keep 140 staff member employees on a payroll, you JUMP at the easiest thing that comes up. TACOMA suddenly came up.
Eric Temple with the Dinner Train jumped and left the "naysayers" behind.

Also, the first part of the news story was incorrect. It mentioned Intersate-5 .. Wrong. The railroad has to remove a steel girder bridge and concrete work over Interstate- "405" at NEWCASTLE, because WSDOT wants to widen the freeway. OK ??

On another interesting note regarding Tacoma Rail: They supposedly are keeping Tom Payne's coaches (Golden Pacific--2100 fame) hostage until GP pays their bills.
And, the Milwaukee E-9 diesel loco at CEECO shops is still there too and no one seems to know where it might be going. Does THAT belong to Tom Payne and GP as well, or "NO" ???
