According to the book, ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE GENERAL MOTORS, John DeLoreon and the other executives at Chevrolet wanted to put a little disclaimer note in the glovebox of each Vega that said, "We at Chevrolet did not design this car, it was handed to us by corporate GM," but one of his execs pointed out that because it was optional, many Vegas did not come with a glovebox.

Have never owned a 4wd, but the few times I've rented one, I've totally felt this.
