There is no need to be sorry. - NONE!

There is no reason that a simple question, answered with a simple and honest answer (this was), should offend anybody, even when diverse politics is involved. Some people are just way too easily offended anyway - it is their failure and their problem.

Besides, questions and impressions of the relative safety, for visitors to a given area, are quite germane to this forum. Even when those impressions are negative or unpleasant.

Most of us are big enough at heart to handle it. But even if there are a few out there, (NPR comes to mind) that are way too edgy or intolerant to deal with the real concerns of real people - So What! - Big deal! - Pay them no heed!
