Mr. Seeyle is correct, The Milwaukee Road's original depot in Butte, MT . was stub - ended. Trains had to back out or in from a wye located a mile or so West of the depot at Colorado Jct. Milwaukee would solve this operating headache in 1956 by building a new depot on the mainline in South Butte. Both depots were in good shape on my last visit in 2007.
