Thanks for sharing these many photos. While these units had undergone a lobotomy (transition removed) they remained handsome. A few reminiscences: while they were not successful, various carbody features such as hood latches, etc seemed more rugged then their competition. The lift up access door on the side of the nose of the head of the engineer housed various items such as the brass overspeed whistle.
