Astoria, OR - Bicentennial and Locomotive Rebuild

KAST AM 1370 - Astoria, had an interesting morning radio program on the 2011 Bicentennial for Astoria, Oregon.

Today's morning 'Coastwatch' radio program was discussing railroading in Astoria and the restoration project of former Santa Maria Valley Railroad Baldwin locomotive #21. This locomotive is to be rebuilt as Astoria and Columbia River Railroad No. 21. The goal is to have the locomotive operating by the time of the bicentennial celebration.

Like any restoration project, there is a need for financial assistance and contributions would be greatly appreciated. Take a look at the web pages linked below.
