I do not know when larger power started to use the Monterey Branch, but they were permitted as far Fort Ord. Such power was used as late as 1955. They could be turned on the Balloon Track at that location.

I am kind of curious about the "Mixed Train", as I was not aware of any such service on the Coast Division since the Great Depression, if not earlier.
