The story behind the name behind the name.
Yes, the car is named for the AMTRAK system shops.
The shops were New York Central's system shops.
The property was established as a city, separate from Indianapolis. (taxes)

A community on the West side of the city is called Speedway. Look carefully at your road atlas.

The crafters of the Indiana state constitution had an "ulterior motive".
No other state has cities inside cities, to the best of my knowledge. ???????

The daily train between Indianapolis and Chicago is primarily for shop movements.
Suggest looking for the train, as time allows. Seldom the same; maybe one car is revenue.
