Thanks SO much, Steve, for those beautiful photos
of those wonderful SP SDP-45s. one of my all-time
favorite locomotives. Beautiful lines, and, boy, could
they run!! My father commuted behind them, and I
commuted behind the wonderful Trainmasters, way
back in the mid-1960s, before I became a railfan
in the mid-1970s.

Train 132 was one of the trains my father took
regularly to get home. It was an express, with
the second stop being Menlo Park. The SP really
ran a spit-and-polish commute, because company
officers rode the train. Those were the days!

I really wish the SP had seen fit to preserve one
of those wonderful SDP-45s. They only had 10.
