I was wondering how long it would take for someone to post that video on this board. Its' at least three years old and was put together by one of the north end trail ramrods and I believe one of her EPIC buddies. Apparently the trail people and THA are still going head-to-head over a museum and tourist train. You would think the light bulb would come on (if there is a light bulb) at the Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District that taking the lead in developing a Timber Heritage Museum and tourist railroad is really all they have left (except log sales and wood chips). After all, "Recreation and Conservation" is part of their name. Restoring the Coos Bay line will kill any chance for containers on Humboldt Bay. There's still a jewel of artifacts and structures up there, including much of the railroad north of Scotia. For whatever reasons NCRA is fully supporting Timber Heritage Association efforts. A new group, "Sunshine for Humboldt," a "non-profit civic organization" seems to be adding their support lately over the media. Aren't these some of the same people who used to blame everything on Redwood National Park and yell "YES WE CAN," until they couldn't. Now everyone's tune has changed. Lets all hope the THA sees their dreams come true.
