First met Jim in 1965 while we were both chasing a CB&Q steam fan trip. Found out besides the railfan hobby, we were both born in 1941. Me on 4-26-1941, so I had a 7 months head start. Of the many times we crossed paths, the most interesting happened in June 1971. My wife, Diana, and I were riding the CRI&P "Peoria Rocket" to Chicago, IL. As we neared our destination, our train passed an Illinois Central freight train. From the Dutch Door I spotted Jim on the walkway of his locomotive. Jim took a picture of our passenger train and I took his picture. If I remember correctly, Jim did not work for the I.C. very long.

Yes, Jim will be well remembered!
