In Bill's picture you can still see evidence of the 1964 flood in those dead trees off to the side. I rode the car many times following the flood in the mid 1960's. If traffic was lite and no officials around you could stand up front between South Fork and Dos Rios. Charles Coleman was the regular conductor in those days. Lots of torpedos popping off and rough pieces of track that made the Budd lurch violently. On/off stops were made anywhere for any reason, hikers, fishermen, locals and employees. Thanks to Bill and KRK for the recent pics and memmories.
