Interesting picture of tain no. 1. The water level at South Fork on Dec. 21 1964 was about the level of the No. board on the train in this picture. The four span bridge to the right of this photo was the final location for the track to come together. The bridge didn't fail until 2 days after the water receeded. The center bridge pier undermined and failed. This was when repaired the most expensive pier ever built on the NWP.
Interesting story about Charlie Coleman and "Ring Tail" Graham the hoghead . They were trapped in Willits on the 22nd and was unable to get home to Eureka by any means until about the middle of January 1965 and stayed on HAHT and expenses the whole time. Both of them volinteered to do any thing they were asked to do to resore the RR.
