ATK 8 going through Athol, ID, about now, 7:30am. Approx. 5 hours late. Numerous signal and switch outages, as well as X-ing protection malfunctions due to power outage, lost gate arms, or blown-down crossbucks. High-wind warning has been extended to mid-morning, forcing some trains to be held. One WB was about to depart Hauser but was told to tie it down and get a ride when the warning was extended. Didn't apply to the loaded coal train that was let loose about the same time. Didn't help that a couple cars went on the ground late yesterday just west of Napa Street, putting a crimp on all BNSF and UP traffic through Spokane. Domino effect in all directions from there.
