Milwaukee Road E - Unit # 36 was once owned by Golden Pacific Rail, along with the Reading Steam Locomotive. Both engines were caught up in the infighting between Tom Payne & the various investors / owners of GP Rail. The 36 sat @ CEECo for quite some after mechanical work & painting were completed, due to non - payment of bills. I don't know how it ended up in Deer Lodge, but it's better off stuffed & mounted than scrapped.
