SP sign

Since everyone was so helpful in identifying the use of the WP sign a while ago [www.altamontpress.com] here's another sign we have. Does anyone know if this sign may have been used by Southern Pacific somewhere, or is it just a railfan sign.

It appears to be cast from aluminum, is about 2 feet by 2 feet, and maybe 3/4 of an inch thick. It was made to hang on a wall and has pegs on the back to make it stand out an inch or so away from the wall surface.
