If you board the Starlight in Sacramento, you'll arrive in Seattle without changing trains or stressing if you'll miss you connection in wherever. You'll also not be concerned about the cost of gasoline in Yreka or Weed.

And you'll be able to enjoy Mt Shasta if the train is late, or sleep, or enjoy the conversation of others smart enough to not drive to Seattle. Oh, and not spend $3+ every twenty miles or less.
