As a parallel thread to the one below, how about a Bucket List of trips you'd like to take before you kick it ??? I have several :
1) Amtrak's Cardinal from Chicago to D.C.
2) Amtrak over Donner Pass
3) Rent the Durango & Silverton NGRR boxcar / motorhome for a week
4) Amtrak Acela's fastest train; this may happen later this spring
5) A week fanning Chicago
6) Alaska RR between Anchorage & Fairbanks
7) Fanning SP,LA & SL's Meadow Valley Wash
8) Fanning Saluda Grade ( & a visit to Kannapolis, NC also )
