Sad to hear...and a sign of these times. You could do a lot of speculating about what possible outcomes might occur. One I've thought about is just what happens to Shay 7. An obvious thought would be for her to go to MRSR in nearby Mineral, but they already own a Pacific Coast type Shay (former Pickering Lbr. Corp. 11), which they have plans to work on her in the near future.
Shay 7 was active into 1964 IIRC. Drew got up to Klickitat to photograph her, I missed this one. This makes her maybe the last Shay employed in logging service in North America as Pickering's 11 lasted until late '63. Would be nice to see #7 put on display somewhere under good care if she no longer has any operating future.
