Here are a couple more scenes from early in the days of Camp 6.

With the Lidgerwood Skidder in the background, a commercial crew lays track at the forest museum in Pt. Defiance Park, Tacoma, WA

Martin, I have no idea if Vance is still around. He was a great machinist, but, at least at Camp 6, he was a rather sour personality.

Norm, on the other hand, was always smiling, full of good stories, and had the ability to get all the pretty girls that wanted to see the cab, up, practically in his lap, blowing the whistle. (much to Jack and my envy!) After hours on Saturday, Norm would always drink quite a large quantity of whiskey. He was a big, well over 6', guy and could put away a large amount without visible affects. Sometimes Vance would drink with him, he was a pretty small guy, and the next day, his head was in bad shape. Norm would really get whistle happy, I'm sure to torment Vance!

Norm was an "old time" logger, and would have a couple beers in the cab on hot days, always tossed the bottles in the firebox, telling us that they just added to the fire brick!

Steve
