For this move at Davenport two additional Sierra Northern employees were assisting. It appeared to me they were overriding the crossing signal when the engine or cars were within the grade crossing block, but not approaching the intersection. I am assuming this was done to avoid large back ups of vehicles on Highway 1 as the long consist of tank cars (35-40) were backed in and out of the run around next to the cement plant.
After completing the move at Davenport the two additional Sierra Northern employees drove the line ahead of the train inspecting the line all the way to Watsonville.
