Several new articles of interest to CA - HSR followers. A proposal to replace the entire HSR board, and another proposal to redirect HSR funding to Hwy 99 so it can be converted to an Interstate. Apparently Bakersfield & Fresno suffer from the indignity of "... being the nation's largest metropolitan areas to not be served by an Interstate highway." Guess the congressman sponsoring this bill never heard of Bend & Redmond, OR., or Anchorage or Fairbanks, AK. I'm also guessing he hasn't read the part of the HSR funding act that requires all funds to be spent on RAIL projects only, or they have to be repaid.
