Portland OR rail restaurant to "Pull the Pin"

After several dacadess of serving homemade meals to railroaders and railfans alike, Portland's Semaphore Restaurant and Bar will close its doors forever next Saturday, February 26th.

Located at SE 17th and Holgate, just a couple of blocks from the Brooklyn Roundhouse, volunteers have regularly gathered for lunch on Thursdays as they take a break from the roundhouse restoration activities.

Property surrounding and supporting the Semaphore has been sold to TriMet as part of the alignment for the Milwaukie Light Rail.

For anyone wanting to experience the last days of this Portland landmark, time is growing VERY short!

Along with the impending loss of the Brooklyn Roundhouse, this marks the end of another era in Portland railroading.
