It was May of 1976, Gerald Ford was president with Nelson Rockeller his appointed V/P. Viet Nam was over and Richard Nixon had retreated to the now former Western White House in San Clemente.
The country was ready to put a lot of things in the past and get on with the up coming Bicentennial Celebration.
On a humid May afternoon, SEPTA PCC Car #2094 (I think)has left the Woodland car house and is outbound in 36 line service to Elmwood and Island Ave. Rexall was still around and on the medical center sign the phone number still had an alpha prefix and a phone booth (remember those?) stands next to the building. Note the clothes on the man in the blue shirt and black pants in front of the Rexall door and the man in scrubs on the second floor giving me a suspicious eye.
The fire at Woodland the previous year had left SEPTA very short on equipment so just about anything that would run was in service.
