SEPTA maintains on PCC as a work car which has been heavily modified and it sometimes goes along on excursions with the "K" cars or a PCC-II. Most of the Germantown line is still in place but sections of rail and some switches have been removed. A major section of the Chestnut Hill area track was removed and completely rebuilt by Penn-DOT as part of another project. Whether or not it ever sees service is HIGHLY questionable. The 23 was temporarily converted to diesel bus in 1992. Temporary is still in effect.
