If you take a look at the initial post on this thread, you'll see that the detour is only for the southbound train. Also, trains in either direction may be subject to work-related delays.
As I'm sure you probably noted, there's already been a change from what were the original detour dates. There may be more, thus there's no guarantee that the train you've booked space on will actually be detoured.
