Thanks for your mention of NP's 2626; Timken's llll - aka Four Aces

Alternate day's 12:01 PM daily to Portland (later 12:30 PM) Northbound at 8:00 AM

Note that before digital / 24 hour time, the railroads never used 12:00 AM or PM

Were any of NP's Seattle to Twin Cities clearance diagrams inadequate to clear 2626?

Saturday trips to Union and King Street Stations - on non-drizzle days.
Great show from the adjoining viaducts.

Not directly related: Great Northern and Northern Pacific stored semi-retired cars under the Fourth Avenue viaduct. They could reasonably replace any Westbound train that wouldn't arrive soon enough to turn around. Yes, the make-up trains received exterior washing and visits to the commisary.
