I used to live at 7000' in the Sierra's. As far as I'm concerned the folks back east are the ones who are woosies when they panic when they get a foot of snow. That's a regular storm out here. Things start to get annoying when you get over 3 feet. The worst I ever saw was 11 feet in one storm. My brother had a porch 17' off the ground and he had to throw the snow up onto the snowbank to clear off the porch. People had to shovel off their roofs to get the snow pressure off them - that doesn't happen back east. But in all fairness at least we had a place to throw the snow. In cities there's no place to put it.
